Duration: 3 years (6 semesters) Important Note for African students
- Joint Examination for the school certificate and GCE conducted by West African Examination Council passed with 6 subjects including English as one of the subjects.
- 2 'A' level passes along with 5 G.C.E 'O' level passes.
- 12 year High School International Baccalaureate Diploma.
- 12 years of schooling in the respective countries in such education systems as accepted by Association of Indian University, which is the accredited agency in India for assessing foreign academic credentials.
- In case of qualifications other than those mentioned in the equivalency list of AIU, the University reserves the right to accord equivalency provided it satisfies the regulatory requirements.
Lateral Entry Scheme for SMU Courses Most of the courses are designed for multiple entry and exit. The candidates can enroll for the courses based on basic qualification and lateral entry qualification.
Basic qualification as above. For post graduation, basic qualification is 3 or more years graduation or equivalent. The specific provisions are indicated under respective course headings.
Lateral entry qualification: Lateral entry is an opportunity given to a candidate having the basic qualification and previous qualification in the relevant field to enter a higher semester.
However such students will be required to appear and qualify in the previous semesters / relevant papers.
Candidates may exit the course at any stage and will get the corresponding Diploma / PG Diploma based on the number of semesters / examinations completed at the time of exit. The various entry and exit points for all the courses are illustrated in the prospectus. The details of eligibility criteria of lateral entries are indicated in respective course headings.
